Ingrid Sawerthal

Ingrid Sawerthal was born in Vienna. She studied Italian at The University of Vienna School for Interpreters and minored in Art History. During her studies she was granted a scholarship which lead her to Rome. After several years of interpreting and translating, from 1995 to 1997 she trained as a licensed Austrian guide and since then, based in Vienna, has been working freelance with guests from all around the world. Ingrid is a lecturer and trainer in the Austria Guides education and training program. Besides her professional interest in foreign languages, arts and European history, she is devoted to theatre and loves music, and for recreation she enjoys mountaineering in the Alps.
